On April 19th, 1:00-2:30 est, SmarterServices™ will be sponsoring a webinar by Academic Impressions called "Collecting, Analyzing, and Using Faculty Evaluation Data". Early bird registration rates are good through April 12th so register today! Faculty evaluation is a complex process that affects institutional quality and individual careers. But in practice, day-to-day evaluation does not often reflect what has been learned from years of research or what can be done to best make use of the data collected. Join Dr. Michael Theall and learn how to use the collected data to improve evaluation practice and enhance faculty careers.
On November 30, 2010, at 2:00 - 3:30 est, Sloan C will be sponsoring a webinar with SmarterServices called "Are Your Students Ready for Distance Learning." Register today it is FREE!
In today's economy student retention is important - especially for distance education programs. In this presentation learn how that over 300 colleges and universities measure learner readiness and how they use these measurements to identify at-risk students followed by interventions to help these students succeed.
In today's economy schools want to retain the students that they have enrolled. This is especially true for distance learning programs which historically have higher drop out rates than traditional programs. Wouldn't it be nice if you knew which online students were more likely to drop out? You could then provide the remediation and support that they need to remain in your program and be successful.
In this presentation Dr. Mac Adkins and Julie Owen of SmarterServices will share how schools measure learner readiness and how they use these measurements to identify at-risk students followed by interventions to help these students succeed. The general construct of online student readiness and online student support will be explored as it is perceived by their institutions.
Dr. Adkins will share the results of a study conducted in 2010, involving over 200,000 students from around 300 colleges and universities which use the SmarterMeasure learning readiness indicator. The study revealed several trends and statistically significant facts about levels of readiness among distance education students.
Webinar participants will also have an opportunity to explore how their institutions have helped online students remain in their programs and be successful.
The title of this webinar caught my eye as "Data Driven Decisions" factors straight into our mission statement. D3 may be trendy but we hope it is a trend that lasts. One of our main goals as a company when we changed our name and product names this spring was centered around finding better ways to help schools and organizations use their data in a meaningful way. Whether it be student data about learning readiness, end of course evaluation information, or having access to faculty data using it to increases efficiency, strengthen programs and improve processes is key.
The October 5 Big Audacious Conversation webcast, “D3 = Data Driven Decisions: It's Trendy” brought together Ellen Wagner, executive director of WCET and Kenneth C. Green, the Founding Director of the Campus Computing Project. The two discussed the significance of using survey data to make decisions. The chat box was active with many excellent questions posed and numerous resources shared.
